At Health for Life, we provide whole-person care through the two complementary parts of our practice:

1) Medically-Necessary Services (covered by OHIP)

2) Health and Wellness Services (covered by our annual fee)

Together these form a more complete, proactive approach to care.

Medically-Necessary Services

As a primary care provider, Health for Life provides attentive and thorough medically-necessary care, including medical exams, investigations, screenings, and referrals to specialists as needed. We provide comprehensive medical care across all stages of health to help you manage acute and chronic health conditions. 
We bring a pro-active approach to medically-necessary care, integrating lifestyle and prevention medicine. Our focus is always to keep you as healthy as possible—now and into the future! 
Our clinic is intentionally small, allowing us to give our clients attention and care in a timely and personalized manner. 
These services are provided as part of your primary care and billed to OHIP through your Ontario health card. 

Health for Life clients have access to a range of Health and Wellness Services throughout the year, paid for by the annual fee.
Rather than focusing only on illness as it arises, we work alongside you throughout the year, supporting your everyday lifestyle habits and choices that shape your long-term health. This allows us to move beyond reactive care and help you build sustainable, meaningful improvements in your health and wellbeing. 
Depending on your individual needs and goals, this may include : 
  • Annual fitness assessments and recommendations by qualified fitness trainers
  • Nutrition assessments and Registered Dietitian services
  • Health coaching and lifestyle goal setting
  • InBody™  body composition testing
  • Specialized Health Prevention and Lifestyle care provided by our Medical Team
  • Nursing Services including annual nursing assessments 
  • Inagene™ Pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing review
  • Care coordination and specialist navigation
  • Support from our medical team in regards to future care planning
  • In-clinic bloodwork (phlebotomy services)
  • Travel health consultations
  • Completion of most health-related forms
  • A personalized annual Health & Wellness Portfolio and Review 
  • Educational resources and workshops
  • 24/7 triage support, with same- or next-day appointments generally available for urgent concerns
  • 24/7 on-call support from a member of our medical team for urgent medical concerns
  • The ability to address multiple concerns with your care team in one appointment 
  • Enhanced communication with your medical team (secure email messaging) 
  • Access to a beautiful, calm, and motivating health care setting with light refreshments for our clients
  • HFL community events centred around holistic heath promotion 
    These services are supported through an annual fee and are not covered under OHIP.

PLEASE NOTE: Health and Wellness Services are paid for by the Annual Fee, whereas any Medically-Necessary Care is billed to OHIP, as per current healthcare legislation.

PHARMACOGENETIC TESTING (PGx)

We partner with Inagene™ to offer pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing for patients interested in a more personalized approach to medication management.
PGx testing helps us understand how your unique genetic profile may influence your response to certain medications. This gives us more information during the prescription process, helping reduce trial and error and improve outcomes over time.
